Have you ever seen something and looked back to see that what you saw was never actually  there? If you said yest, you are either hallucinating or you just saw an optical illusion! Optical illusions are moments your eyes interpret something you are seeing differently than normal, making you see something that might not actually be there. Hidden in the Arizona Boardwalk, is the Museum of Illusions Scottsdale. If you have an interest in illusions, enjoy the bending of reality, and love taking selfies, the Museum of Illusions is the perfect place for you.

The Museum of Illusions is open from 10 am - 8 pm in Scottsdale, AZ and is filled with interactive installations, illusions, and more! Upon entering the Museum, you will see the array of puzzles and interactive illusions all available for purchase as well as some cool museum merchandise!

The museum is full of many fascinating installations – some illusions use mirrors or other techniques to distort your visual perspective. Some enjoyable illusions were the Beuchet Chair, Head on a Table, and the Cloning table. Each of these illusions play on the person's perspective and are perfect for some creative silly photos!

As you walk through the museum you will notice images and artwork hung throughout the walls. These images vary in many different simple optical illusions accompanied by signs explaining what the illusion is and how it works and tricks your brain. Blivet, Colors, and Light Bulb are all smaller illusions, consisting of looking at the piece so the illusion will show itself to you. Spiraling Disc is just one of the many exhibits that will play cool trick to your eyes!

The Museum of Illusions also included various rooms, using lights and height as ways to distort one's perspective. You can also experience the Tilted Room, Ames Room, Vortex Tunnel, and the Reversed room, which were all definitely eye-opening to the brain. Most of these illusions are in their own individual room. Being able to not only to see the illusion but being able to see just how the illusion works is such an interesting thing and is worth all the photos!

Not only were these illusions fun and entertaining, the staff was just as great!! Making sure the rooms were working and even offering assistance with photos and recommended some interesting perspectives for photos was great. That's not the only assistance they offer!! As you walk around you'll notice perspective stickers and photo stickers, these are your guide to help you see certain illusions and help you get the best photo for each exhibit. The museum also offers opportunities to rent the museum for business events/parties and school trips; they even offer teachers free entry on Tuesdays with their teacher ID!

After its grand opening back in 2022, the Museum of Illusion continues to be a fun and interesting experience for all. Recommended for all ages, it is a good pass time for kids and adults alike. You can have a fun family night or a unique first date; the Museum of Illusions has something for everyone. With all the creativity to experience, you will be surprised at how much a quick visit to this museum has to offer. Overall, the Museum of Illusions Scottsdale provides an enjoyable and stimulating experience and I’d highly recommend a visit for anyone looking for unique adventure or the perfect “instagrammable” spot.
