Before her rise to fame, Ms. Kelly Mac dealt with the loss of her beloved home country, Vietnam. Relocating with her family as a young teen, Kelly found herself wandering in a new world in 1975. They arrived in the U.S. with nothing but the clothes on their backs and knowing little to no English, but that did not stop Kelly from chasing her dreams and making a name for herself.
While navigating this change and rearrangement in her young life, she stumbled upon one simple .49¢ book—and everything changed. This was the seed of the Kelly Mac Method, as she discovered the teachings of Joseph Pilates through this book, and began to transform her outlook on life, connecting with her body and mind. From there, Kelly Mac became a prominent figure always striving to connect with her community, one of her biggest supporters, and impact them in the same way this book impacted her.
Kelly Mac is expressed as a dynamic individual with a unique blend of personal and professional qualities. Community is a must for Kelly; she considers her fans as a community. Kelly’s personal life is marked by a burning desire for continuous learning and self-improvement, always saving space for herself and striving to become the best version she can be.
“I am a morning person because my work needs me to be up and shine!” ’Kelly has always been early to things, always ahead of the curve when it comes to trends. But beyond her own drive and her dedicated fans, what truly motivates Kelly the most? What is Kelly’s biggest accomplishment so far? She has so many to name… but her biggest one is her daughter, Michelle. She gushed about her daughter in our interview, saying, “My biggest accomplishment would be raising my beautiful daughter who has successfully launched herself, and we are each other's biggest supporters. She’s my reason and my inspiration.” Michelle definitely has her mother’s work ethic and hard-working traits. She often posts about her mother on her Instagram account alongside her own work. Michelle is just as excited about Kelly Mac Bikinis as we are!
Kelly has been working behind the scenes for quite some time, shining a light on her newest fashion venture by featuring it on her socials and the TLC channel. “I am excited beyond words. I’ve worked on this for a long time.” This has been on her bucket list for years, achievable through her own motivation and the support from her community. Kelly was recently featured in the illustrious Phoenix Swim Week on August 3rd.“Now I continue to be artistic in designing my own line of bikinis that are comfortable, stylish, and affordable!” Kelly Mac’s bikinis have also been described as regal and elegant-looking pieces designed with the utmost top-notch quality, perfect for any time out by the water—a true Vogue moment that wowed the audience at Phoenix Swim Week.
Beyond all of Kelly Mac’s success, perseverance, and artistic fulfillment, pursuing an online status (and a bikini line) can be a hard one. Kelly's biggest challenge is the haters, or as she describes “the naysayers”. When asked more about these naysayers, Kelly stated: “Don’t allow them to take up prime real estate in your mind.” A useful piece of advice for any artist and go-getter. The more you do, the more you are onto something. Keep up the work, and prove yourself. As a businesswoman, Kelly embodies vision, innovation, and leadership. Using strategic thinking, and being clear in making decisions, Kelly navigates challenges with a focused approach. Her entrepreneurial spirit drives her to identify opportunities and turn ideas into beneficial manifestations.
“Take a chance on yourself”, Kelly says. Her advice to any young influencers and creatives on the rise is to get busy living your life. Life is so short, so make something with it, get busy, and be that successful version of you. You’ll never know you can soar if you don’t take action and try to fly. Believing in yourself is the key. Hold yourself to high standards. Envision yourself on a pedestal. “As my grandma used to say, ‘kill them with kindness.’”
Ultimately, Kelly's hardships have made her the woman she is today, building a strong foundation for the rest of her endeavors.
