“The Art of Evolving” for Style Cruze Magazine

As society evolves, art and artists continue to grow in importance. From the runway to your favorite movie to the music on the radio, art is all around us. Since 2018, Contagion Media (based in Phoenix, AZ) has been dedicated to making art and artists more important. “The Art of Evolving” is a photo editorial shedding light on the importance of each artist signed to Contagion Media.
Contagion Media’s team features 30+ artists of all mediums (models, photographers, videographers, musicians, makeup artists, writers, and more). For “The Art of Evolving,” creative director/photographer KBR, assistant EJ Manon and Kevin Fides, and photo editor Natalie Wheeler teamed up to produce photographs showcasing each individual’s artist journey and artistic style. “The team we have is really special and the compelling work we create shows the dedication we all have as artists,” says Creative Director KBR.
For this collection, artists La Unica, Rigi, Yosh, Cora Quiroz, and Erick Grillo all showcased their excellent posing skills. “Everyone is so talented and creative. I get so much energy working with individuals who are as passionate about their craft as I am,” shares Yosh. Many artists signed to Contagion Media are interdisciplinary artists; Yosh and Cora Quiroz are both designers and Erick Grillo is also a musician. “Contagion Media produces quality work that I’m proud of..” shares La Unica. “The ease of making content makes the process so smooth and rewarding.”
Rather than starting from a vision board, the artists photographed were provided images of the location, Aloft Hotel in Glendale, AZ, and were asked to wear anything that expresses their creative freedom. Aloft Hotel was the perfect location for this collection as it created a playful and colorful vibe, reflecting many of the artists’ styles on our team. For the project, Contagion Media produced these editorial photographs as well as a "Meet the Artists" mini docuseries that will be released later this year.
